Cognitive science

“The study of the mind and intelligent behavior, whether in humans, animals, machines, or in the abstract.” –UCSD COGS1.

The first department of cognitive science was established at {UCSD} in {1988}.

It aspires to multidisciplinary, across psychology, anthropology, linguistics, philosophy, neuroscience, and computer science.

It was born at the Symposium on Information Theory at MIT in 1956 with a theory of Cognitivism at its foundations, a reaction to Behaviorism.
