Sleep regulation

Sleep regulation is thought to be driven by two processes: a {homeostatic} mechanism (“Process {S}”) which {increases sleep pressure with time awake}, and a {circadian} mechanism (“Process {C}”) which {varies with the body’s circadian rhythm}.
