This Augmented reading project adds some special features to inline citations in papers:

  • inline citations for papers you’ve already saved are colored purple
    • a tooltip shows the citing sentence from the paper where you saved it, to help you remember why you saved it
  • inline citations for your own papers, and for papers you’ve cited in your own papers, are converted to special symbols
  • my favorite design detail: papers cited in papers you’ve recently viewed are highlighted in progressively darker shades of yellow-orange as more “encounters” accumulate—a nice continuous representation for likely relevance
