• Gwern: unique “long writing” design elements including encyclopedia-like articles updated over time, curated changelog, curated homepage categorical organization, tags, “confidence rating”, “importance rating”, completion status, etc. More importantly, Gwern writes about unusual topics with an unusual perspective. Many ambitious projects in web design, including archiving all linked pages, complex marginalia layout, etc.
• Cosma Shalizi: reverse-chrono and densely-linked notes (400+) on wide-ranging topics, written at least partially for a public audience but clearly primarily to help Cosma think; notes tend to contain extensive bibliographies with curation markings; book reviews; lots of personal and professional information smartly organized. His notes are at a coarser granularity than my Evergreen notes—which I think makes them more pleasant to read.
