Enacted experiences are hard to author

Playwrights, novelists, and lecturers can leverage known forms to make their work easier. They can deploy prior patterns, tools, methodologies, etc. when solving problems or evaluating their work. By contrast, if you want to design an Enacted experience, you’re mostly starting in the wilderness.

There are some key exceptions: game designers have patterns for aesthetic enacted experiences in their form; organizational design has patterns for instantiating team cultures and practices through enacted experiences.

There may be techniques and processes which underlie both these fields’ practices and which may yield general approaches for creating enacted experiences. This would be exciting because Enacted experiences can bootstrap active participation in enabling environments.
